Odoo implementation FAQ

An ERP project is too important for vague answers. Arpana is an Official Odoo Silver Partner focused on retail and manufacturing SMBs. Here is what we tell clients before any contract is signed — how we implement Odoo, and what that looks like on the shop floor or in the store.

How do we know if Odoo is right for our business?

We start with your workflows, constraints, and growth plans—not with a list of apps. Odoo is usually a strong fit when disconnected tools, duplicate data, and manual handoffs are slowing the business down. If it is not the right fit, we will tell you.

Typical retail signal: POS, e-commerce, and inventory living in three places. Typical manufacturing signal: BOMs and production status sitting in spreadsheets.

How much does an Odoo implementation cost?

The three biggest cost drivers are the number of modules, the level of customization, and the number of users. Data quality, integrations, and change management also shape the final scope. As a planning range, a focused SME implementation—such as Sales and Invoicing—often starts around $7,500–$15,000 USD. A multi-module rollout for a mid-sized company can range from $60,000–$175,000 USD. Odoo Enterprise licences are additional and billed per user. We confirm the real number through a preliminary audit, then give you a phased scope, a realistic budget, and the trade-offs behind both—no mystery package and no surprise line items.

Focused SME rollout: $7.5K–$15K — Typically Sales + Invoicing

Multi-module rollout: $60K–$175K — For a mid-sized company

A preliminary audit turns the range into a phased scope and a reliable budget—with the trade-offs made clear.

A retailer starting with Sales and Invoicing is often a focused first phase. A manufacturer adding MRP, inventory, and quality is a multi-module rollout. Neither figure is a quote until the audit.

How long does implementation take?

Most projects take roughly three to six months. A focused first phase can move faster; complex migrations or custom operations take longer. We plan around usable milestones so your team sees progress well before the final go-live.

Do we need to implement every app at once?

No. We prioritize the applications that remove the biggest operational bottlenecks first, then add the rest in controlled phases. A smaller system adopted properly creates more value than a huge system nobody trusts.

A shop can start with POS and stock; a factory with purchasing and BOMs. The rest follows once the first flow is trusted.

Can you migrate data from our current systems?

Yes. We map, clean, test, and reconcile the data before it reaches production. We also agree with you on what is worth migrating, what should be archived, and who validates the final result.

Retail often means product catalogs and open orders. Manufacturing often means BOMs, vendors, and on-hand stock. We decide with you what is worth moving.

Will Odoo need custom development?

Sometimes, but customization is not the default answer. We use standard Odoo where it supports the process well, configure before we code, and only build custom functionality when the business value clearly justifies the long-term maintenance.

What happens after go-live?

We stay involved. The first weeks include hands-on support, issue triage, and adjustments based on real usage. After that, we can continue with support, optimization, training, and future phases as your business evolves.
